It might be time to ban AI.
Angela Lipps, 50, spent nearly six months in jail after Fargo police identified her as a suspect in an organized bank fraud case using facial recognition software, according to south-east North Dakota news outlet InForum. Lipps told the outlet she had never been to North Dakota and did not commit the crimes.
Lipps, a mother of three and grandmother of five, said she has lived most of her life in north-central Tennessee. She had never been on an airplane until authorities flew her to North Dakota last year to face charges.
In July, US marshals arrested Lipps at her Tennessee home while she was babysitting four children. She said she was taken away at gunpoint and booked into a county jail as a fugitive from justice from North Dakota.

Looking to get into remote work any suggestions?
Hey, I'm looking to get into remote work but I don't have any experience or degrees. I'm a fast learner and hard worker, and trust me when I say I don't complain. I need this because my wife isn't in the best of health, and being able to be near her more often would be ideal. Any suggestions, or leads?

[PAID] Voice Data Collection / Pair Recording (Native US/CA/AUS English - Worldwide / Remote) - $450
Hey everyone,
I’m working with a project manager who is looking for native English speakers (US, Canada, Australia) for an AI voice training project. They have a tight deadline (April 12th) and need volume, so I'm sharing this opportunity here.
Location: WORLDWIDE. It doesn't matter where you currently live (Expats and Digital Nomads are highly welcome!), as long as you have a native US, CA, or AUS accent.
The details (no BS):
• Task: Pair recording. You and a partner basically just talk. 15 hours of casual everyday topics, 15 hours of business topics, and a 3-hour buffer.
• Pay: $450 USD per person upon completion.
• Rate breakdown: It comes down to about $13.60/hr. It's incredibly easy work you can do from your couch on your own schedule anywhere in the world.
• Requirement: Must have a native accent (US, CA, AUS). You can bring your own recording partner if you want to!
If you are interested and have the time to complete this before April 12th, just leave a comment!

Anybody here automate their jobs?
Current Remote Worker (tech PM) with around 3-4 years of experience and I noticed that most VA jobs are easily automatable nowadays, if so what platforms do you typically use? On estimate how much positions do you usually take on? and how much manual work does it require time wise.

Which unexpected side hústle actually brings in decent money?
Got a couple that feel kinda ridiculous but they do actually pay:
- Renting out stuff I already own I make steady money renting out random gear on Fat Llama / local Facebook groups: camera body + lenses, a drone, projector, folding tables, a carpet cleaner. Weekends are busiest. I made more last year renting my $300 carpet cleaner than it cost to buy.
- Test proctoring / exam supervision Universities, language schools, and professional cert places hire temp proctors. It’s mostly sitting quietly, walking the room, checking IDs, and collecting papers. Pays better than retail and you’re basically just watching people suffer through tests.
- Mystery shopping / auditing Not the scammy stuff—legit companies that send you to check gas stations, retail stores, or restaurants. You follow a checklist, take photos, submit a report. Some pay a flat fee plus reimburse your purchase, so you get free gas/food plus cash.
- Event “extra hands” I do day‑of work for weddings and corporate events: setting up chairs/decor, checking people in, moving gear, teardown. Usually found through local planners or event spaces. It’s physical but pay is solid and it’s all in 6–10 hour chunks.
- Phone farming / passive apps Old phones + Wi‑Fi + rewards apps. Nothing life‑changing, but it covers a couple bills. I just let them run while I’m home. Between those and casual game‑for‑rewards apps like Mistplay, it’s basically my “free coffee and snacks” money.
- Pet waste removal Super unglamorous, weirdly profitable. People will absolutely pay you to come once a week and clean their yard. Minimal supplies, recurring clients, and most places nobody else is doing it.
None of these are “quit your job tomorrow” level, but stacked together they’re very quietly paying a good chunk of my expenses.

Going digital at 27? Where to start?
I'm 27 and currently working as a butcher. I've climbed pretty high in the freelance side of my field and I'm doing relatively well, but I don't see myself doing this forever.
Recently I bought a good laptop because I wanted to start learning digital skills and maybe build a different future for myself. The idea was to stop just consuming content and actually start creating or learning something useful online.
The problem is that now that I have the laptop... I feel stuck.
There are so many possible things to learn (design, blogging, video, online business, etc.) that I don't even know where to begin. I keep opening YouTube or Google trying to figure out what skill to start learning, and I end up going in circles.
If you were in my position - 27, motivated to change things, with just a laptop and internet — what skills would you focus on learning first?
And more importantly, how do you actually pick a direction instead of getting stuck in the "where do I even begin" phase?

Is the company EarnHaus legit?
I’m a student, so I’ve been looking for remote jobs in order to make some quick cash. I saw that Earn Haus pays people to take surveys, and was wondering if this was actually legit. I get that there are many scammers out there, so I’m trying to be careful in what websites I sign up in, and I feel like this is too good to be true.
