They're not just figuring out reality, they're figuring out language its self.

That’s the noise GHB makes when dropped in your drink?

I'm concerned a 4 year old doesn't understand the concept of a pet.

u/Dr-Robert-Kelso 2h ago

There's a lot of shit my 4yo partially understands.

I genuinely think the OP and most of the people in this thread are dumber than this kid. He wasn't surprised that the person had the same dog he had last time, he was excited to encounter the same dog that he saw before. The person being the same probably didn't even register to him.

1

u/Neverlanian 32m ago

My immediate thoughts exactly lol like I thought it was pretty obvious the kid was just excited that they bumped into each other again

At what age do children develop canine permanence?

u/crazy_urn 3h ago

I have a neighbor that has two dogs. Both look similar, but different enough that you can tell them apart easily. She walks each dog separately each day. This would be a legitimate question to ask her, lol.

4

u/hellogoawaynow 1h ago

This is my 4 year old kid lol “HI DOG!!! MOMMY THAT OLD MAN IS WALKING THE DOG AGAIN!!!!”

And, my god, we have talked about not yelling that people are old so many times.

At least she doesn’t comment on weight, I would absolutely die.

everyone in my neighborhood thinks my dog is like 21 years old. literally everyone makes comments about how the old guy keeps on keeping on and the fucking dog is like 5 years old.

0

u/4P47 1h ago

Do you tell them the actual age? Also I had the opposite case with my last dog, he was pretty old but people always thought he was a puppy because of his wild personality and energy.

0

u/cates 1h ago

yes I tell them his age and they always just tell me they can't believe it.

u/Notactualyadick 47m ago

He's 21? That's one old dog. How long do you think he will last?

1

u/cates 33m ago

he doesn't look like he'll be around much longer but sadly I think he'll be here for another 14 years

1

u/Notactualyadick 32m ago

Wow, for a 21 year old dog, I think that's awesome.

1

u/cates 19m ago

His back left leg isn't great so he basically hops everywhere but yeah... he's super smart and loyal af.

1

u/Notactualyadick 8m ago

In all seriousness, he sounds sweet. Give him a scritch for me.

u/cates 6m ago

Will do!

Ok this is clever and nice BUT it is making me irrationally annoyed and upset that the P is there but in the”wrong “ place.  I hate this comment

1

u/PterionFracture 38m ago

The half spoonerism of it is grating. Too bad it wasn't a feline and I could have gone with Awwbject Purrmanence.

This automod reply has been triggered due to a keyword in your comment. As a reminder this is a satire subreddit for the dumb/silly things children do. The subreddit name is not literal. Although posts can have kids doing actual "stupid" things. It is not a requirement. It only needs to be dumb or silly. Yes, blaming the parent is valid. However, this does not mean crossing the line into actually insulting the parent is ok (assuming they are the OP) (Rule #1).

We did try to have this information stickied as a comment when a post was created. However, reddit thinks its a good idea to autocollapse automod comments. So we've had to resort to a keyword reply.

Please read the sidebar for more information.

I have a somewhat similar story. A woman aggressively 'confronted me' on the street about stealing people's dogs because she kept on seeing me with a new dog every day. She seemed very, very intense.

I just told her I'm a dog walker, and she demanded to look into my client list. I laughed and told her no and kept walking.

That was like ~11 years ago. Turns out she's my neighbor and is manic depressive bipolar and was basically in a complete delusional psychosis then. We are sort of friends now.

1

u/Sasalele 12m ago

Sounds like those parents don't want their kid to have a dog.

Nothing else to say about it.

1

u/albertyiphohomei 4h ago

Nah, this is a clone

0

u/WelderNewbee2000 1h ago

Are you holding that dog captive?

-6

u/Devil_Raw69 3h ago

Why is this here?

9

u/Straight_Fix_7318 3h ago

says why in the sidebar

  • Yes, kids could not know better, that's the joke.
